A constellation of noise

Outcomes occupies a space as a field, not as a single object. Vertical resonant tubes are distributed across the room in a structure determined by the architecture of each venue. The arrangement follows the logic of a constellation: nodes connected by lines, each one aware of its neighbours.

Each tube contains copper, aluminium, or steel rods struck by solenoids. The material determines the timbre. The configuration determines the relationships. No two installations sound the same, because no two spaces share the same geometry.

Resonant tubes

The tube knows you are there

Each tube acts simultaneously as instrument and sensor. The tube itself functions as a theremin-style antenna, detecting presence and proximity without contact. As a visitor approaches, it responds with a rhythmic pattern. The closer the approach, the more the pattern develops.

At the same time, it alerts the nodes it is physically connected to in the constellation. They respond as accompaniment. A soloist and its section, triggered by a body passing through.
Technology stays hidden inside the structures. There are no screens, no visible interfaces. The only perceptible output is vibration and sound.

In the field

Nobody composes, Nobody conducts

As visitors move through the space, their paths through the constellation generate patterns that no single person controls or predicts. Individual gestures dissolve into collective behaviour. The system is not reacting to commands. It is negotiating continuously between activation and rest, between the soloist and the group, between one body and the next.

The result is emergent. It could not have been composed in advance because it depends entirely on how people distribute themselves, how long they remain, and how they move. Even a single visitor walking in a straight line produces a unique sequence, because the geometry of each installation is never repeated.

Space as a living system

Outcomes understands space as a system in continuous search for balance. Walls, objects, all standing elements are absorbed into the system, while its inhabitants, the people, are moments of interference on that balance. These dynamics are usually imperceptible. By amplifying them through sound, the installation makes spatial negotiation audible.

Silence is as meaningful as activation. When the room empties, the system waits. It listens. Simply being present already changes the environment, whether or not anyone notices.
